Chapter Philanthropy
Kappa Kappa Gamma highly values philanthropy and thus employs a three tier philanthropy program. All chapters raise money and volunteer for The Kappa Foundation, Reading Is Fundamental, and a local philanthropy. Epsilon Epsilon's current local philanthropy is the Children's Restoration Network. Epsilon Epsilon hosts many philanthropy events in the fall and spring semesters.
In the fall, sisters combine their efforts with the Brothers of Alpha Tau Omega and Alpha Phi Alpha to host the annual Chill 'N' Grill, a three day grilling event in the center of campus where students can buy food to benefit Reading Is Fundamental. Starting Fall 2015, Epsilon Epsilon is excited to announce a Thanksgiving book drive to inspire students to reflect on the things they're most thankful for. Following Thanksgiving break, sisters of Epsilon Epsilon will host a Reading is Key event at a local school. Each student will leave the event with a book of choice that was previously collected through the book drive.
In the spring, sisters kick off the semester with Kappa Kisses, the week-long sale and delivery of Hershey's Kisses and Roses to benefit The Kappa Foundation. To wrap up the semester, sisters participate in an annual clothing swap in which they clean out their closets, earn points for clothing donated and get to exchange clothes with sisters. All remaining clothes are donated to a local women's and children's shelter. This spring we donated over 400 articles of clothing! Another spring event, Kappa Kappa Game-On, includes a field day of sports tournaments with prizes donated by local gyms. Kappa Kappa Game-On benefits our local philanthropy however money raised at our Spring 2015 event went to hosting GIRLS Academy.
If chosen to host GIRLS Academy next spring, Epsilon Epsilon will be the first chapter in Georgia to hold the program. GIRLS Academy is a weekend-long program that connects middle school girls with college women to foster self worth, confidence, leadership, team work, and more.
